WATER Authority of Fiji CEO Barry Omundson began his inspection tour of WAF sites in the Western Division yesterday.

Mr Omundson was briefed by WAF’s Regional Manager Western Romuluse Mataitoga on the status of water supply and wastewater services to Fijians in the western parts of the country.

“We are committed to providing and improving water services and accessibility to Fijians,” Mr Omundson said in a statement issued by the authority.

“This exercise is being conducted so that I can see our ground operations first-hand and meet our teams. I need to understand the needs on the ground as this will greatly assist me in my decision making, as I aim to improve the working culture at WAF,” he added.

Mr Omundson visited the Olosara wastewater treatment plant, Sigatoka customer service centre, WAF Sigatoka Depot, Matovo water treatment plant as well as the Keiyasi water treatment plant.

He also inspected the works at the new Nawaicoba reservoir site.

Mr Omundson will be visiting the other treatment plants and major project sites in the Western and Northern divisions in the coming weeks.
