Vusu Raiders got back to winning ways after beating a strong Nadi Eels side 32-20 during the FNRL Women’s Premiership round five clash at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.
The Raiders were made to work hard, however, they proved the better of the two teams.
“We lost the last two games against Lami Steelers and USP Raiders and we had to bounce back strongly,” said Raiders team manager Nanise Tuqiri.
She says the girls played well, however, there are a few areas in which they need to improve on.
“We told the girls at half-time that they had to stick to the game plan and follow what they had been taught during training.
“We really needed to notch up a win in order to be competitive against other top teams like Lami Steelers.”
Tuqiri said the Nadi Eels was a strong side and gave them a tough run.
“We have to stick to the basics and play simple rugby, communicate more on the field.”
