FIJI Water Flying Fijians fullback Vuate Karawalevu has officially signed a full-time contract with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for the upcoming 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.

The announcement was made by the Fijian Drua confirming Karawalevu’s commitment to his home team.

Expressing his excitement and gratitude, Karawalevu stated that he feels incredibly thrilled and honored to join the Fijian Drua.

He sees this opportunity as a chance to represent his roots and is eager to give his best performance on the field.

The 23-year-old player made his international debut for the Flying Fijians in a recent game against Samoa in the Asahi Dry Pacific Nations Cup last week. He also managed to score a try.

“Feeling incredibly excited and blessed to join this new club.

“It’s an honour to play for my home team, and I can’t wait to give it my all on the field,” said Karawalevu.

“I’m ready for this new chapter and grateful for the opportunity to represent where I come from.”

The former Marist Brothers High School student was also part of the Kaiviti Silktails side that are currently part of the Ron Massey Cup competition before joining North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup competition.

Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians will meet Tonga next Friday at Teufaiva Park in Nuku’alofa.

A win against Tonga will see the Flying Fijians book a spot in the semi-final of the competition.

In a match played last night, Samoa thrashed Tonga 43-17 at Apia Park.

Samoa led 17-nil at the break.
