AT just 14-years-old, Tahlia Vosaki embodies the essence of passion and dedication in the world of sports, particularly in CrossFit.

Her journey, marked by unwavering commitment and resilience, that brought in an extraordinary achievement, qualifying for the 2025 CrossFit Games this August in Columbus, Ohio, USA.

Vosaki will represent New Zealand at the Games but according to father Ratu Samani Vosaki, Fiji will also be flying the Fijian flag in USA.

Ratu Vosaki, originally from Qalikarua, Matuku in Lau says Tahlia exhibited a profound enthusiasm for CrossFit that set her apart from her peers from a very young age.

Vosaki recalls the early days when Tahlia, then just nine-years-old, would accompany her parents to the gym.

“We noticed from a young age that she had a passion for Crossfit, because she showed more enthusiasm for Crossfit over any other sport we had put her in,” said Vosaki.

“She told us she was interested and at the time she was playing rugby. We put her in the kid’s classes because she was interested, and we believed Crossfit would help her for rugby.

“When she was 11, she decided to stop all her other sports just to do Crossfit. Then she decided to do pursue it seriously by being homeschooled from the start of high school so she can train full time.

Ratu and his wife recognised her interest and enrolled her in kids’ classes, initially believing that CrossFit would enhance her skills in rugby, a sport she was actively playing at the time.

Vosaki describes this journey as both exciting, highlighting not only Tahlia’s physical growth but also her development as a person.
