FIJIAN Drua captain Mosese Voka has been reminded to apply the same simple basics he applies on the rugby field to his married life.
The advice was sounded at his wedding at Vio Island off Lautoka yesterday.
The 33-year-old Nabalebale, Viwa, Yasawa native married Wainise Lavaki in front of close relatives, friends and loved ones yesterday.
Lautoka Methodist Church circuit divisional superintendent, the Rev Vilikesa Rokisi, reminded the Flying Fijians number eight to honour his vows and always put his wife and children as his priority, especially in the challenging rugby world he lives in daily.
“Christ should always be the head of your family,” Rokisisaid.
“Christ should always be the head of your family. “The basics of a complete family is love. Mosese, please always remember that your family is everything.
“Always honour your wife and children because they will always be there for you, especially during your rugby career.”
Voka believes his life as a married man will now boost his rugby career, especially in the lead-up to the Rugby World Cup in Japan later in the year.
He said he had been chasing his dream of donning the white jumper and representing his country in the international arena.
The soft-spoken Yasawa native said this was an added boost to his rugby career, especially now having the support of his wife by his side daily.
Former Fiji 7s captain Kalione Nasoko was present during the wedding.
Voka was born and bred on Vio Island, a small island off Lautoka.
It is the home of Fiji 7s player Aminiasi Tuimaba and national netball rep Raijeli Daveua, and some former Fiji 15s and 7s rugby reps.
