Vodafone Fiji has confirmed an outage occurred on its eTransport Bus Card top-up POS (point-of-sale) infrastructure late yesterday.
The company said this disruption affected several customers.
“The issue was isolated to the network connectivity affecting the POS terminals used by top-up agents to top up bus cards,” said Vodafone Fiji.
“We are pleased to confirm that the issue was fixed later in the evening yesterday and all services are fully restored and operating normally.”
“Immediate actions have been taken to address the online connectivity issue on the agent network by allowing for offline top-up services from the EFTPOS terminals.”
Vodafone Fiji said this allows top-ups to be processed without online connectivity.
‘We are currently rolling out a nationwide communication and training program for our top-up agents to ensure they are fully equipped to use this new offline capability when needed.”
“To prevent such occurrences in the future, Vodafone is implementing several critical infrastructure upgrades and redundancies across its POS systems.”
