EXPECT to hear the name Samisoni Viriviri throughout the Wellington 7s tournament this weekend because the IRB Sevens World Series top scorer has vowed to get back on the scoring sheet.
The Nadi man had a quiet spell during the Las Vegas tournament in the US with only three tries and his scoring abilities will be important this weekend for the team to bounce back.
“I didn’t play that well in Las Vegas. I watched the replays and saw areas that I need to improve on for this week.
“I will try my best to improve my game and score more tries.”
With 20 tries already under his belt this season, Viriviri is one player that Fiji will be looking to win big games.
He was the leading tryscorer and player of the tournament at the Dubai 7s and was also named best and fairest player at the 2013 Hong Kong 7s.
Viriviri, who made a winning debut on the series during the 2012 Gold Coast 7s, said the players were up for the challenge this weekend.
“The team has been preparing well. We are looking forward to the game against New Zealand. We won’t be disheartened and we expect to give them a tough game.”
