Vio set for final defence

THE Islands Electric-sponsored Vio rugby team will be out to finish the 2016 season on a high note when they defend the Lautoka Rugby Union Super Premier Challenge Cup against Army West at Nadovu Park today.

Vio defeated Pacific Direct Line Navutu last week.

Former Flying Fijian and Lautoka prop, Niko Qoro who is coaching Vio, said it was all about getting the basics right and sticking to the game plan.

“We thank our sponsor Islands Electric for giving us the support and to all who have Vio rugby at heart,” Qoro said.

“We expect to face a stern test in the final challenge match. Army West was undefeated in the second round of the club competition.

“It will be tough to go against them, but if we stick to our fundamentals, everything will fall into place.”

Western Shield retained the Premiere Cup Challenge Cup after beating Rangers last week.

The Vio versus Army West match will kick-off at 4pm.
