One could argue that the 2025 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl will be remembered as the day Police flyhalf Etonia Rokotuisawa delivered a masterclass in tactical kicking, securing a dominant 26-10 victory over arch-rivals Army in the annual rugby challenge.

Rokotuisawa was the pivotal figure in the Police attack, personally accounting for 16 points through his immaculate boot.

His precision under pressure proved the difference-maker, as he coolly slotted two conversions four penalties from various positions on the pitch, maintaining a significant scoreboard advantage throughout the contest.

Speaking after the final whistle, a humble Rokotuisawa credited his success not to technique alone, but to his strong faith.

“In all my preparations, I place my trust in God who gave me this talent. People have given me so many names for my kicking but I rely upon God, knowing that being honest with the little things in training and staying true to your practice will be seen on the field,” he said.

The flyhalf’s unwavering focus, which has guided him through a demanding season, was evident throughout the fierce clash.

“I’ve had a long season with the Skipper Cup, Farebrother and now the Sukuna Bowl. I’m thankful to God for this journey.”

Rokotuisawa dedicated the hard-fought victory to those closest to him, recognizing the sacrifices made both at home and at his workplace.

“I dedicate this victory to my family at home for their prayers and support. This is also for my station at the Police Mobile Unit. I know most of them watched this game on television as they faithfully carry on their duties while we are representing them here.”

Rokotuisawa plays for Naitasiri in provincial rugby which is the current Farebrother Trophy holders.
