The life and legacy of the late former Flying Fijian Joeli Veitayaki was honoured in a memorial service by his family, friends and former rugby mates in Nausori yesterday.

Veitayaki had passed away in New Zealand on October 21 at 58-years-old.

During the service at the Nausori Methodist Church, eulogies were presented by the vanua by his brother Sepesa Vueti, his maternal village, the Nuku Rugby Club, the St Marist Rugby Club, the Police Rugby Club, the Suva Rugby Union, the Fiji Rugby Union and his daughter Marilyn Nawalowalo on behalf of his children.

Suva Rugby’s eulogy was delivered by rugby administrator Paula Biu and for the FRU by its operations manager Sale Sorovaki.

After the service, lunch was provided for all who attended at the Vunivivi Government Quarters Church Hall outside Nausori Town.
