Vehicles from Nadarivatu were seen crossing a flooded road near Wainura, Waikubukubu on the Nadarivatu Road this morning.
Hundreds of people were stuck at this place with flood waters crossing the road.
They were on their way to the Tavua market to sell their produce.
The Fiji Red Cross is urging people not to take the risk.
“Just a few inches of fast-moving water can sweep away cars and hidden dangers like strong currents, debris or washed-out roadways can cost lives,” states the Red Cross.
“Never underestimate the power of water. If the road is flooded, take a detour. It’s better late than to never arrive.”
