The Serevi International Rugby Academy received a second vehicle from Asco Motors Fiji yesterday as part of the Asco’s continuing support of the academy and its commitment to community development and youth empowerment.
While receiving the new Toyota Innova, academy director Waisale Serevi said the vehicle will help their team to travel from villages to town and from schools to communities in sharing their important message of saying “No To Drugs”.
Mr Serevi, who is a strong advocate against drugs, said over the past months, their “Say No to Drugs” national advocacy campaign had reached more than 30,000 people across Fiji.
This includes children in primary schools, secondary schools, tertiary institutions, youth groups, church, communities, corporate organisations, government officials and members of the public.
He said Fiji’s drug crisis is not only a law enforcement issue but a national issue.
It is a family issue, a community issue and therefore it requires a whole of the nation’s response.
“We may not see the full harvest immediately, but one day we will see young leaders, athletes, professionals and responsible citizens who will stand up and say: ‘someone believed in me when I was young’,” Mr Serevi said.
He added that the work they are doing today is planting seeds of hope, discipline and purpose in the hearts of young people across our nation.
While handing over the vehicle, Asco Motors chief executive officer Ronald Kumar said the initiative reflects Asco Motors’ commitment to supporting youth, sports and promoting an active lifestyle among the younger generation.
Asco Motors first partnered with the Serevi Academy in March 2025, donating a Toyota Hilux to facilitate the academy’s activities and to help transport players to events.
