FIJI Airways Flying Fijians centre Jale Vatubua was at his usual best for Pau as the France-based side ran in five tries to secure an emphatic 42-14 victory over Zebre in their Challenge Cup match yesterday.
Planet Rugby reported tries from Vatubua, Laurent Bouchet, Masalosalo Tutaia, Peter Saili and Frank Halai proved too much for Zebre who scored through a Giovani Licata brace.
The former Marist Brothers High School student and Kaji Rugby product gave his side a second minute lead, but Licata squared matters up in the ninth minute. Bouchet put the hosts back in front in the 16th minute.
Watisoni Votu was on the wing while Lekima Tagitagivalu who was part of Fiji in the 2015 World Rugby Under 20 Trophy was in the reserves.
Also Brive ran out 29-17 winners over Oyonnax at Stade Charles Mathon in Challenge Cup action yesterday.
Fijian duo Seremaia Burotu and Benito Masilevu scored for the side.
It was reported the second half saw no action until the 60th minute when Masilevu scored for Brive.
Sisa Koyamaibole and Dominiko Waqaniborutu were on the bench.
Flying Fijians flyhalf Ben Volavola who was at second five eighth and Peni Ravai showed their commitment as Bordeaux-Bègles claimed a hard-fought 36-28 victory over the Dragons at Stade Chaban-Delmas yesterday. Metuisela Talebula and Apisai Naqalevu came in as replacements.
