THREE players competing for Kadavu, Taveuni and Navosa in this year’s Vanua Championship have been named in the Shop N Save Fijian Warriors extended squad.
The side will take on the touring Australian Country team next Thursday in Nadi.
Kadavu rugby’s fullback Savenaca Durusolo, Sevuloni Tawake of Navosa and Taveuni halfback Amani Tunaka are among the 32 players named by head coach Cohen Politini.
The remaining 29 players are part of Skipper Cup teams including Naitasiri, Suva, Ba, Nadi, Lautoka, Nadroga and Tailevu.
Players selected from the Naitasiri playing group are Breyton Legge, hooker Osea Dasalusalu, John Muller, Michael Ferei, Marika Natau, Napolioni Batimala and Apimeleki Nasalo.
Mataiasi Tuisireli, Inoke Ravuiwasa, Sosi Waqa, Ponipate Tuberi, Paul Dolokoto, Sivaniolo Lumelume and Judah Draiva are the Suva players in the squad.
Nadroga is represented by Nedly Grant, flanker Sakiusa Vosayaco, Meli Buinimasi and Sefanaia Tokaduadua.
A handful of Ba players have also caught the eyes of selectors and they include, Allen Osbourne, Isaiah Lotawa, Ratu Peni Dekedeke and William Ryland.
Anare Tabakaucoro is the only player from Tailevu rugby.
Nadi’s Josh Uluibau, Ebernezer Navula, Netava Saukuru along with Sam Soqovata and Apimeleke Nasalo of Lautoka are also in the mix.
The side will take on Australia Country at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park.
