Update: 2:23PM THE Vodafone Fiji side has booked its spot in the semi-final of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series USA Sevens in Las Vegas.
In the quarter-final this afternoon, Fiji defeated Japan 43-7.
Converted tries to Jasa Veremalua (two) and Jerry Tuwai and an unconverted try to Osea Kolinisau in the first half gave Fiji a 26-7 lead at half time.
Pio Tuwai and Savenaca Rawaca crossed over for unconverted tries in the second half while Amenoni Nasilasila’s converted try in the dying stages of the match sealed the match for Fiji.
