The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) is set to forward recommendations to the President today following an urgent meeting and consultations with the Attorney-General yesterday.

The commission met to address several key matters involving the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), including the February 2, 2026, decision of Justice Dane Tuiqereqere, allegations received from a whistleblower on February 18, 2026, and the recent arrest of citizen publisher Charlie Charters.

The JSC confirmed that its recommendations will be formally submitted to the Office of the President by close of business today.

Meanwhile, Mr Charters has remained in FICAC custody since Saturday and is expected to appear in court today. His first caution interview at the FICAC office took place yesterday morning but was not resumed in the afternoon.

Attempts to obtain comment from FICAC remained unanswered when this edition went to press last night.
