A powerful message of hope and transformation was shared by Leslie Tikotikoca during a recent Easter youth program hosted by the Fiji Council of Churches.

Speaking during the “Faith, Family and Drugs” session, Mr Tikotikoca recounted his personal journey through hardship, describing how life took a drastic turn following a serious injury that led to amputation.

“Life was not easy for me,” he said.

“I went through a lot of pain, not just physically but mentally and spiritually.”

Mr Tikotikoca told youths gathered at the event that his struggles pushed him to a point where he had to decide on the direction of his life.

“I had to choose whether I was going to let my situation destroy me or turn to God for strength.”

He stressed the importance of faith, family support and making wise choices, particularly in the face of growing social issues such as drug use.

“Drugs will not solve your problems; it will only make things worse.”

“Your family is important, and you need to listen to them because they want the best for you.”

Mr Tikotikoca urged young people to remain grounded in their beliefs and to avoid negative influences.

“God has a purpose for everyone, no matter what you are going through.”

His testimony resonated strongly with the audience, serving as a reminder of the power of faith and resilience in overcoming life’s challenges.

Meanwhile, in the Western Division church services celebrating the Resurrection of Christ the Saviour ranged between stage productions of the biblical tale and marches through the streets of Lautoka City.
