Acting Commissioner of Corrections Sevuloni Naucukidi has made a passionate appeal for unity and integrity within the Fiji Corrections Service, drawing from his own personal battles since taking office.

Speaking during the monthly parade at the Naboro Corrections Complex yesterday, Mr Naucukidi delivered an emotional address, revealing the strain and scrutiny he has endured since his appointment four months ago.

“This is coming from a deep place, from someone who has been dragged through the mud and turned inside out, but I have held on due to my loyalty to the organisation and the men and women under me,” he said.

He recalled a time when Corrections officers served with pride despite lacking resources, manpower or adequate pay.

“We supported each other, we loved our work and respected those in command. And we did our work diligently.”
