‘Unbox the future’ with new innovative mobile devices

IF you’re a Samsung brand user and lover, then it’s time for you to “unbox the future” into the latest mobile devices.

Vodafone Fiji together with Samsung Electronics Co Ltd last night unveiled two new innovative and much-awaited mobile devices; the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ (Plus).

With the popularity of the Samsung brand both globally and among many Fijians, the launch of the latest Samsung Galaxy devices are dubbed as the “smartphone that pushes the boundaries of traditional smartphones”.

Vodafone Fiji chief marketing officer Rajnesh Prasad, while launching the devices, said this delivered yet another first for Fiji.

“Vodafone & Samsung has had a long partnership over many years that has complimented our drive in delivering the best to our customers,” he said.

“Together, we have launched many Samsung flagships simultaneously with the global launch, which has been a milestone achievement for Fiji as we compete against the big leagues in mobile communications.”

Mr Prasad said many of their customers had also preordered the new devices, grabbing the chance to be among the first ones to experience the new Galaxy.

Head of Mobile Product for Samsung in the Pacific Islands and New Zealand Todd Selwyn said the devices were setting records sales around the globe and he expected Fijians to have a similar positive response to the launch.

“We know Fijians love the Samsung Galaxy brand, and the new Galaxy S8 and S8+ will continue this strong tradition for us,” he said.

“We work hard to ensure our devices are ‘built for the Pacific’ with localised software and engineering support for the Fiji market.”

The Galaxy S8 and S8+, which builds on Samsung’s heritage of creating stunning designs and functional devices, will also come with the foundational Galaxy features that its customers have come to love.

These include water resistance to a maximum depth of 1.5m for up to 30 minutes and dust resistance and fast, wireless charging capabilities.

And for those selfie lovers, the new devices are equipped with an advanced 8MP F1.7 Smart Autofocus front camera and 12MP F1.7 Dual Pixel rear camera.

In addition, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will offer a wide selection of biometric technologies including a fingerprint scanner, iris scanner and facial recognition so users can select a secure biometric authentication method that works best for them.

The new devices are now available in all Vodafone stores nationwide for which demand is expected to increase rapidly.
