FIJIAN Drua prop Kaliopasi Uluilakepa believes the Fijian Drua concept is the pathway to get into the Flying Fijians team.
The 23-year-old New Zealand-born said to put your hands up for the Flying Fijians team is the correct path.
“The goal is to push for international matches, especially the Rugby World Cup coming up next year,” Uluilakepa said.
“All we can do is control the controllable and what we can do at training is get fitter and see how the game goes.
“During the Super Rugby season we will depend on that to make it into the starting line up.
“Our off-season training has started pretty well which has given us a head start but the players need to get more fit.
“I think the tournament will be an eye-opener for the boys especially coming out for the first season from different teams.
“The new boys have the talent to go through their first year of competition.
“It will expose them to more knowledge on where we need to get to and in a professional stage.”
Meanwhile, the Drua will play six home games next year. Coming to Fiji are 2022 champions Crusaders, 2022 finalists Auckland Blues, the Melbourne Rebels, Queensland Reds, Moana Pasifika and the Hurricanes.
For its away games, the Drua will travel to Auckland, Brisbane, Dunedin, Canberra, Hamilton, Perth and Sydney.
