The Fiji Sports Council 7s team will expect tough competition in their pool, as they run onto the field for the Fiji Hamilton 7s tournament in New Zealand today.
The team is grouped in Pool A with Raralevu NZ, Mahurangi, New Edition and the Ruwailevu NZ Stallion teams.
In an recent interview with this newspaper, head coach and former Fiji 7s and Flying Fijian rep Sireli Bobo stated the team would prepare themselves for the NZ outing by taking part in the Epic 7s, which took place at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori last week.
With the team now in New Zealand ahead of kick-off, Bobo stated the team of mainly under-20 players would be playing in the open grade and were preparing themselves accordingly.
“I know most of them are seasonal players in the U21 and the only difference is empowering their minds to know they can achieve their target,” Bobo told The Fiji Times recently.
Meanwhile, AJ Pallets Ba River, a local 7s team that participated in the FSC U20 7s tournament last year, are taking part in the NZ tournament as well.
