The U.S. Embassy in Suva, Fiji, through the Asia Foundation has handed over 2384 library books to educational and government institutions in Fiji and other Pacific Island countries.

The U.S Embassy provided more than 150 books to Ratu Sukuna Memorial, Gospel High, Nabua Secondary and Corpus Christi this morning.

The recipient schools said those books came at the right time when schools were being planned to reopen soon.

Presenting the books to those schools, Public Diplomacy Officer at the U.S. Embassy, Suva, Rebecca Archer-Knepper said the embassy had worked with the Asia Foundation for the past several years to provide books to schools in Fiji.

“We bring these books in the country and distribute them to 25 different organisations, including schools and institutions,” Ms Archer-Knepper said.
