Fiji Police have arrested two juveniles in separate cases of sacrilege, with investigations also focusing on those receiving stolen goods.

In Navua, a 17-year-old was charged for sacrilege on Calia Back Road, alongside a 41-year-old man charged with Receiving, contrary to Section 306 of the Crimes Act 2009.

Both were produced in court, with cases scheduled to be recalled later this month.

In another incident, a 15-year-old student in Newtown was arrested for allegedly stealing various items, including a rug, gas burners, and assorted goods, which were recovered by the Southern Division taskforce.

Police have warned of increased opportunistic crimes during the festive season and urged the public to secure easily resold items such as mobile phones, electronics, shoes, jewelry, and bags.

Members of the public are reminded to prioritise safety and security at home and in public places.
