Two men have died following a boat collision in the waters off Qamea, Taveuni on Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wame Bautolu confirmed there was a collision between a boat and a resort staff boat.
He said the two locals travelling on the boat died as a result of the collision. Investigations are underway.
Their identities have not yet been released as authorities continue with the investigation and efforts to inform their families.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear at this stage, and investigators are working to establish the sequence of events leading up to the tragedy.
