TWO days of high-spirited action ended with Team Headquarters (HQ) winning the netball and volleyball competitions of the Fiji Police Women Inter-Formation Netball and Volleyball tournament in Suva yesterday.
HQ won the netball competition after defeating Central Division 20-16 in the final.
In volleyball, they beat Southern Division by two straight sets, denying them a third set.
The deputy national co-ordinator of the Fiji Police Women’s Network, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Salaseini Vakatuturagani said the level of competition this year had increased with the unearthing of new talent.
“It’s another level compared to the past years, there are so many young talented players who were participating in this two-day event,” ASP Vakatuturagani mentioned.
The force’s netball and volleyball teams for the Sukuna Bowl were also named after the competition wrapped up yesterday and she was optimistic about the teams being formed to defend their Sukuna Bowl titles.
ASP Vakatuturagani thanked the Commissioner of Police, senior officers, police wives, the police women and their families for helping the two-day meet a success.
