Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), has partnered with the Nasinu Town Council in a two-day anti-drug campaign.

The two event, held last week by this international peace organization (HWPL) saw the participation of elementary and university students, youth groups, and residents from across Nasinu as part of its broader “HOPE in FIJI” initiative.

HWPL facilitated activities promoting unity and non-violence, including a community peace walk under the slogan “We Are One.”

“The first day focused on bringing people together through the peace walk, emphasizing our shared responsibility to promote peace,” HWPL said.

“The second day featured an interactive booth that introduced peace education and practical steps for fostering peace in everyday life.”

Participants included students from Fiji National University and members of youth group ONOP, many of whom said the experience was meaningful in encouraging collaboration and understanding among diverse community members.

The campaign precedes the 12th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace, which HWPL is set to host across 94 locations in 61 countries, including Fiji.

The organization expects over 10,000 global citizens and more than 1,600 public figures to participate in this year’s events, which will include both virtual and in-person celebrations.

HWPL noted that the commemoration reflects on the global declaration’s vision to end war and cultivate peace through citizen-led initiatives.

A central feature of the annual event is the Peace Walk, a large-scale activity symbolizing global solidarity and civic responsibility.

Chairman of HWPL, Lee Man-hee, emphasized the need for grassroots engagement during a previous anniversary event.

“I called for peace to be taught at home and in school, and for everyone to become a messenger of peace,” he said.

“We need to be united under the title of peace and work together to create a better world and leave it as a legacy for future generations.”
