Sakiusa Tuva has been jailed for 25 years imprisonment and is eligible for parole after serving 18 years in prison

He was was found guilty by the Lautoka High Court for his involvement in the importation and possession of a record-breaking 4.15-tonne methamphetamine shipment.

High Court Justice Aruna Aluthge had described Tuva as a player with a “medium role” in the criminal enterprise, noting that he was responsible for “recruiting, transferring, and processing the drugs for local consumption.”

The judge’s ruling placed him below the “top tier” offenders like Justin Ho and David Heritage but highlighted his crucial function within the syndicate’s logistics and distribution network.

During the trial, Tuva pleaded guilty to three counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

He admitted his role in moving the drug packages and arranging for their storage.

Evidence presented in court, including testimony from other co-accused, detailed how Tuva instructed others to help him move the containers and was involved in repackaging the drugs.
