Fullback Sunia Turuva and prop Kitione Kautoga are due to return to the Vodafone Fiji Bati match-day squad for the Pacific Bowl final against Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby on Sunday.
Turuva (calf injury) and Kautoga (back problem) were rested during last Sunday’s clash against the Kumuls.
Head coach Wise Kativerata said they would be able to confirm their availability on Saturday.
“They are both 50-50 at the moment so we’ll leave it to the last minute when we have the captain’s run to see how they go.
“Turuva had played more games than anyone else, he’s happy, had a good season with the Panthers so we’ll see on Saturday when we name the squad for the final,” Kativerata stated.
Castleford speedster Jason Qarequare made his international debut in place of Turuva, with Kaiviti Silktails forward Sirilo Lovokuro replacing Kautoga over the weekend.
