TURTLE Island Resort on Nanuya Levu island in the Yasawa Group marked its 40th anniversary today.

During a celebration with staff and traditional leaders from the Nacula district, resort managing director Richard Evanson Junior said they were grateful to the people and their staff for remaining committed to the resort’s success.

He said his father Richard Evanson had been able to call Turtle Island his home for close to 50 years because of the welcoming nature of the Fijian people.

Speaking at the event, the 84-year-old said he was forever grateful to the people of Nacula for welcoming him and his family to their island.
