DEFENDER Ilaitia Tuilau will skipper the Oceania Water Group-sponsored Lautoka team for the 2016 Vodafone Fiji FACT that starts at Subrail Park in Labasa on Friday.
Tuilau re-joined the Blues from Vanuatu Club Amicale FC this February.
He was part of the Lautoka team that won the Inter District Championship title in 2008 under the guidance of Dennis Singh and will bolster the Sugar City defence.
Veteran Peni Finau has been named as the vice-captain.
He was part of the Lautoka team that last won the Fiji FACT title in 2002 beating Nasinu 3-2 in the final.
Interim Lautoka Football Association president Abdul Kadar said they picked Tuilau as the leader because of his qualities.
Kadar said the formal presentations for the team were held at the Singh’s Restaurant in Lautoka on Monday evening.
“We are thankful to Oceania Water Group for sponsoring the team,” he said.
“The chief executive officer Jone Nakauvadra was the chief guest at the presentation ceremony.
“The players are ready to get on to the field at Subrail Park and show their class. It will be a tough event because both pools are equally divided.
Lautoka leaves for Vanua Levu today.
Kolinio Sivoki, Jone Vonu Jr, Semesa Nakosia, and Jone Kaloutani will add experience to the side.
Lautoka plays Suva in the opening match at 1pm on Friday.
