Tuilau set for Blues return

LANKY defender Ilaitia Tuilau is set to return in the Lautoka jumper when the new Fiji Football Association transfer window opens next month.

Tuilau has been training with the Blues since his arrival from Vanuatu, but has to wait a couple of weeks for the transfer window.

Lautoka Football Association acting president Abdul Kadar said they had received Tuilau’s International Transfer Certificate from Amicale FC.

Kadar said Tuilau was an experienced player and would strengthen their defence.

He said there were no injury concerns ahead of the tough Vodafone Premier League clash against Nadi on Sunday.

“Nadi is the defending champions and is on a high following the Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion series win,” Kadar said.

“They will hold the upper hand having beaten Nadroga last week. For us, the focus at training has been on fitness which was an area that we lacked in last week.

“There are couple of new boys who are training like Epeli Rokotuva who made his debut at sweeper last week.

“Rokotuva plays for the City United club. There has been calls from the council members to utilise local talents and we urge the clubs to send their promising players for district training.”

The Oceania Water/KBL Lautoka side will be without four top players.

Midfielder Alvin Avinesh is in New Zealand, striker Kolinio Sivoki has joined the military, defender Jone Vesikula has signed up with Papua New Guinea club Hekari United.

Kadar has urged the fans to turn up in numbers to support the team.

Meanwhile, Nadi is likely to be boosted with the return of Munit Krishna and Eliki Ravosai after missing the opening round of the Premier League.
