Update: 4:40PM THE tropical depression that brought some rain to parts of the country over the past few days is expected to move away from the Fiji Group by early tomorrow morning.
Fiji Meteorological Service director Ravind Kumar said in a Department of Information statement that the tropical depression posed no threat to the country.
“Active rain bands associated with the system which were affecting the group have eased off and for the whole of Fiji, occasional showers over most places with isolated heavy falls expected,” he said.
The heavy rain warning that was in force for the country and the strong wind warning for Rotuma have been cancelled.
Mr Kumar said the depression was moving south of the country.
