A TROPICAL cyclone warning remains in force for Rotuma while a tropical cyclone alert remains in force for Fiji.
The special weather bulletin issued by the national weather forecasting centre in Nadi today also advised that the gale warning earlier issued for Rotuma remained in force.
The weatherman says the heavy rain warning also remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, northern Lau group and the Yasawa group.
According to the weather centre, tropical depression TD03F was located near 9.2 South 175.5 East or about 400km North-northwest of Rotuma or about 910km North-Northwest of Labasa at 6am today.
Close to its centre, the depression is expected to have average winds up to 65km/hr with momentary gusts to 95km/hr; depression moving South-southwest at 10km/hr.
The weatherman says the depression is expected to move South-southwest at 20km/hr and the centre should pass about 260km West-southwest of Rotuma by 6am tomorrow.
