THREE days of the 2025 Fiji Golf Open tourney ended at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva on Sunday with Vikrant Chandra, Shakeel Pillay and Raina Kumar scooping top prizes.
Chandra was named the Professionals Champion, while Pillay and Kumar became the overall gross champions of the Men’s and Women’s categories respectively.
The competition teed off on Fiji Day and throughout it, was played under overcast weather conditions.
Golfers had travelled from around the country and even from Australia and New Zealand to tee off at the eighteen-hole course in Vatuwaqa.
There were 130 golfers participating in this year’s tournament and in an earlier interview with Times Sport, Fiji Golf member Alvin Nair had shared how the meet was a significant one.
“This is the biggest tournament that the Fiji Golf Club organises, it goes for three days,” Nair shared.
“The well-managed, dry golf course has provided an ideal playing environment, allowing golfers to fully enjoy the game.”
This year, the competition was boosted with the sponsorship of VONU Beer, Coca-Cola, Crest Chicken, Tappoos, EasyPar Golf and Crowne Plaza.
Held in its 55th year, the competition has grown from strength to strength over the years.
