Social media is flooded this morning, paying tributes to renowned I-Taukei radio announcer, Maikeli Radua.
He passed away following a road accident in Nadera yesterday afternoon.
“He always reminded us of the importance of family, of staying united, and of treating each other with love and respect,” said his niece Lalyanna Narcy Tabualevu on social media.
“He was not just a man of words but a man of action. He lived by his values—honesty, respect, and kindness—and inspired us all to do the same.”
Mr Radua was 50 years old.
Fiji Police said he is believed to have lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer off the road, whereby he sustained injuries.
He was rushed to the Valelevu Health Centre by bystanders where several attempts made by medical officials to revive him were unsuccessful.
Police said investigators will await the postmortem examination results to confirm the victim’s cause of death.
