Tributes have been paid for Chaganlal Kanji (CK) Nandha who played a pivotal role as the representative of the cane growers to draw up the matrix for the 70:30 sharing of proceeds as per the Denning Award of 1969.

Mr Nandha, formerly of Nadi, passed away on January 1, 2025, in Australia.

He was an accountant by profession and also served as the auditor of the National Federation Party, Cane Growers Federation and later the Fiji Cane Growers Association.

“In that role, he set up high standards of good governance that is being practiced by these organizations for internal administration, operations and development,” said National Federation Party leader, Prof Biman Prasad.

“The NFP has lost a staunch stalwart and professional who served alongside late Hon. AD Patel, late Swami Rudrananda and late Hon. HM Lodhia.”

‘He served the cane growers of Fiji at large for over two decades with consistency and integrity.”
