The spirit of giving came alive this festive season as Lautoka Hospital and Ba Hospital joined forces to spread joy, dignity and hope to vulnerable children in the Western Division through the Tree of Hope Drive.

Children from St Tabitha Children’s Home in Saweni, Lautoka, and the Veilomani Boys Home in Ba received thoughtfully selected gifts, each personally presented by hospital staff.

The Tree of Hope Drive reflects Aspen Medical’s commitment to serving communities beyond the hospital walls and supporting those most in need.

Aspen Medical Chief Executive Officer, Gavin Whiteside, said the initiative captured the organisation’s values.

“Healthcare is not only about treating illness — it’s about humanity, compassion, and standing with our communities,” he said.

“Seeing our staff personally hand gifts to these children was incredibly moving… it was a reminder that they matter, that they are not forgotten, and that hope is something we build together.”

For many of the children, the day was filled with excitement and emotion, with laughter, shy smiles and heartfelt gratitude creating memories that will last well beyond the festive season.
