Women staff members of The Fiji Times were treated to a special International Women’s Day breakfast at the Tanoa International Hotel yesterday.

The gathering brought together women from across the organisation in a relaxed setting, acknowledging their contribution to the country’s oldest newspaper.

General manager Christine Lyons said the event was organised to give staff members an opportunity to connect outside the busy newsroom environment.

She said creating spaces for conversation and support was an important part of fostering a healthy and progressive workplace culture.

The morning was filled with laughter, shared stories and renewed camaraderie as staff members enjoyed their meal together.

The event ended with a reminder of the essential role women play in strengthening journalism and shaping the national conversation.
