The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) is proud to announce that Venice Traill has been officially accepted into the XVII Edition of the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP) — one of the most prestigious coach development programs in the world, conducted under the patronage of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), the University of Delaware and Olympic Solidarity.
Venice, a Taekwondo coach from Suva, received her official acceptance letter from USOPC on March 24, 2026, confirming her place in a highly competitive program that attracts coaches from National Olympic Committees across the globe. FASANOC, which submitted Venice’s application on her behalf, is delighted to see her earn this well-deserved recognition.
An Olympian herself, having competed in Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Venice currently serves as Junior Assistant Coach for the Fiji Taekwondo National Squad and is notably the only licensed female taekwondo coach in the country. Her ICECP project, titled Design and Implementation of an Athlete-Centred High Performance Taekwondo Pathway in Fiji, reflects her commitment to growing the sport at home not just in performance but in inclusion, governance and long-term athlete development.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Venice and for Fiji Taekwondo,” said FASANOC’s Sports Development Manager, Lyndall Fisher. “Her vision to build a structured national pathway, strengthen female representation in coaching, and create sustainable development opportunities for junior and para-athletes is exactly the kind of forward-thinking leadership ICECP is designed to nurture.”
The program runs from April 2026 through April 2027, featuring virtual modules, a residential component at the University of Delaware in September 2026 and a graduation ceremony in Lausanne, Switzerland – home of the International Olympic Committee.
Meanwhile, FASANOC’s current ICECP participant, Patrick Nadan, is in the final stages of completing the program. Patrick has successfully developed the World Archery Fiji Long-Term Archer Development (LTAD) Framework and recently piloted a school archery program at Marcellin Primary School with 65 Year 3 students. He is currently preparing for his Virtual Jury presentation before travelling to Lausanne in April for his final IOC presentation and graduation on April 22.
FASANOC congratulates Venice on this outstanding achievement and wishes Patrick every success in the final stages of his program.
