BA residents can now earn cash by recycling bottles and cans following the official launch of the Return & Earn Fiji initiative.
Speaking at the event last week Ba Town Council special administrator Pauliasi Matawalu said the Return & Earn Fiji initiative would manage waste systems and shape community services.
“This will keep our communities clean and also drives progress toward more sustainable towns and cities,” Mr Matawalu said.
“Through this program, Ba Town Council is promoting resource, recovery, environmental preservation, and community empowerment — which will prove that small actions can create meaningful change.
“At this juncture, I would like to thank Return & Earn Fiji, the Ministry of Local Government and Climate Change for the initiative.
“With the stakeholders, communities, business houses and residents’ collaboration, this will be a practical path toward a cleaner, healthier, more sustainable Fiji.”
Mr Matawalu also acknowledged the support of Return & Earn Fiji, Pacific Recycling Foundation and the Ba Town Council.
