DISCIPLINE is the main factor that the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will need to work on ahead of their second Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific match against the NSW Waratahs next week.

This was pointed out by co-captain Temo Mayanavanua in his post-match interview following their 26-40 defeat to Moana Pasifika at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.

“I think our discipline really needs improvement,” Mayanavanua said, who also scored his first Super Rugby Pacific try in the 62nd minute.

Head coach Glen Jackson admitted his side did not achieve the win they set out to attain.

“We did not get the start that we were after,” he said.

The Drua face the Waratahs in their first away game of the season next Friday at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia.

Mayanavanua, in the post-match press conference, highlighted what the team had achieved however he reiterated the blunders observed in yesterday’s match would need to be amended going forward.

“We started really well, capitalising on our mistakes, played the right areas and we were really clinical with the opportunity that was given to them,” he told Times Sport last night.

“Our message in the first 20 minutes was if we could work on our discipline.”

The Fijian Drua were held off successfully by the visitors and could not push forward even when the scores stood at 12-28 at half-time.

Meanwhile, a distinct feature of yesterday’s match was the introduction of 20-minute breaks in each half due to the hot weather conditions that was felt around Lautoka before and during the game.

The Fijian Drua will meet the New South Wales Waratahs in their first away game at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia next Friday.

Meanwhile, in matches played on Friday, Highlanders edged Crusaders 25-23 while the Waratahs thumped the Reds 36-12.
