Top players register for annual snooker open championship

The top players have registered for the annual Merchants Club Snooker Open Championship that starts in Suva tomorrow.

The two-day tournament has attracted big names like Fiji number one Sahil Prasad, former champions Jiten Prasad, Deepak Jai Ram, Epeli Bua, Yogen Prasad, Viliame Umu, Walter Robinson and Pritesh Khatri.

Praneel Singh who finished the 2019 national season ranked sixth in the country is the defending champion.

The event is sponsored by Shambhu Lal Construction (Fiji) Limited.

The winner will receive $300 while the runner-up will get $150.

The losing semi-finalists will get $75 each.

A special prize for the highest break of over 80 points is also on offer.
