Toulon: Toulon and Castres both notched more than 50 points in one-sided victories as six matches took place in the Top 14 on yesterday.
Toulon consolidated their position amongst the tournament’s frontrunners when they secured a 52-6 victory over Agen at Stade Armandie, with James O’Connor crossing for four tries.
Fulltime saw Agen 13-52 Toulon and the Wallaby, scored two tries, either side of half-time, as Toulon outscored their hapless hosts eight tries to zero and the result leaves Agen firmly rooted to the bottom of the table.
Toulon had Fiji 7s rep Josua tuisova and Manasa Saulo. Agen had Api Ratuniyarawa.
Castres 67-20 La Rochelle
Castres had too much firepower for La Rochelle, running out 67-20 winners, and outscoring their visitors 10 tries to two at Stade Pierre Antoine.
The home side opened the scoring via a BenjamÃn Urdapilleta penalty in the third minute and extended their lead, 10 minutes later, when Rory Kockott crossed for the opening try.
Things went from bad to worse for La Rochelle when Kini Murimurivalu was also yellow carded in the 39th minute.
Once again, this helped Castres as Geoffrey Palis scored their third try on the stroke of half-time which gave them a 22-3 lead at the interval.
Castres’s Sitiveni Sivivatu crossed for tries twice to help in the win.
Racing 92 43-13 Pau
Racing 92 bounced back from their loss in last weekend’s Champions Cup Final when they beat Pau 43-13 on Saturday.
As the scoreline suggests, the home side were in a rampant mood and they outscored their hapless visitors six tries although Pau were competitive early on and Racing held a slender 17-10 lead at half-time.
Racing had former All Black Joe Rokocoko and Fijian international Albert James Vulivuli.
Pau had Fijians Watisoni Votu and Joseva Ulago Domolailai.
