“I’M going to break you!”

Nicknamed “The Removalist”, Australian boxer Francis Chua uttered a declaration for his opponent Mikaele Ravalaca that lived up to his moniker, as excitement begins to unravel for tomorrow’s title clash.

Chua and Ravalaca will go head-to-head in the ring for the WBA Oceania Lightweight Title, in the Stratum Construction-sponsored ZEG Kings Boxing Promotion event titled “This is Boxing” at the Vodafone Arena in Suva tomorrow.

Chua mentioned how he would deal with Ravalaca, while detailing how preparations were ongoing.

“I want him to throw his hardest punches, I’m going to take it and then I’m going to hit him back twice as hard,” Chua said.

At 39-years-old, he said learning about himself at that age had made him consider not exerting too much energy in training since the recovery phase would be longer than usual.

“Because of my age, I’m learning a lot about myself; how to not over train because it takes me a little bit longer for the body to recover and things like that,” he said.

“But I’m very confident I’m going to break Mika (Mikaele Ravalaca) out.”

Chua said he was better adjusted since arriving in the country earlier this week and that a trip to the gym on Wednesday night was a commendable one.

The Australian boxer, fighting with a southpaw stance, won in his debut bout against Vachayan Khamon on May 5, 2017.

Since then, he has appeared in 12 bouts, winning nine, losing three and finishing in a draw.

While Chua has issued a stern warning to his opponent, Ravalaca acknowledged his experience as the Ra fighter knows the challenge is always present when facing overseas opponents.

“For my opponent (Chua), he is a very experienced fighter so stepping in the ring with him will be a great challenge, anything can happen.

“So I can’t wait for fight night,” Ravalaca told Times Sport this week.
