The Then India Sanmarga Ikya Sangam (TISI Sangam) condemned the recent derogatory remarks made by a pastor against the Hindu and Muslim communities.
In a statement, TISI Sangam said it was “deeply disappointed” by the circulation of a video containing inflammatory and offensive comments that “attack the very foundation of Fiji’s multicultural and multi-religious identity.”
“Such rhetoric is not merely a personal offense to devotees; it is a direct assault on the principles of respect and unity that define us as Fijians,” said TISI Sangam President, Parveen Bala.
Mr Bala reaffirmed that the teachings of the organisation’s founder, Sadhu Kuppuswamy, promote harmony, understanding, and service to humanity.
TISI Sangam urged Fijians to reject retaliation and choose forgiveness, supporting the ongoing Fiji Police Force investigation and calling for justice to be served under the law.
“We stand in solidarity with all faith-based organisations in reaffirming that Fiji’s strength lies in its diversity.”
“Let us respond not with anger, but with renewed commitment to dialogue, peace, and love.”
