PLANTING your own vegetables comes with benefits, especially with saving money.
Ratu Manasa Lavanua shared that his plantation in Wainimakutu Village, Namosi provides fresh produce for his household daily, reducing the need to buy from the market.
“Our plantation has been a great source of fresh produce,” he said.
As a result, Manasa says he rarely spends money at the market, as he travels to Suva every fortnight specifically to shop for groceries at Rajendras Supermarket.
Manasa shared that this has allowed him to manage his household expenses effectively while ensuring access to fresh, homegrown food.
