SIBLINGS Emily Dyer and Willie Komainavatu of Raiwai received a timely boost yesterday after Post Fiji provided them with school stationery worth about $500.
The siblings were excited following the presentation at the Post Fiji office in Suva.
For the two children, receiving new sets of school stationery is something they can only imagine.
Emily, 17, a sixth former of John Wesley College said she would never forget what the management of Post Fiji did for her and her brother yesterday.
“I just want to thank Post Fiji for this once in a lifetime opportunity,” she said.
Post Fiji head of retail and marketing Isaac Mow described the gift as another way of giving back to the community.
“The assistance is based on the request that comes in. As for this family, they were the only family that wrote in and asked for assistance so altogether, only two children are part of our education assistance this year,” Mr Mow said.
He said this was the second year they had assisted families who were in genuine need.
“For us, we are always there to assist families who are in need. We are more than happy to assist them if their cases are genuine but that’s not all, we also assist schools, especially those in the rural areas.”
