Cricket Fiji signed a memorandum of understanding on co-operation and partnership with a leading sports equipment provider in the country.

The memorandum between Cricket Fiji and Sports World outlines the areas of partnership to promote cricket based on reciprocity, mutual understanding, and benefit.

Sports World general manager Vinod Kumar said the partnership would help motivate teams to take part in competition using the famous SS (Sareen Sport) brand from their outlets.

“We have joined to see how we can take the game of cricket one step up,” Kumar said.

“We want us to grow together with Cricket Fiji and we will ensure that the pricing of cricket equipment will be in a discount structure.

“We know that cricket is not like any other sport – you need an entire support gear so that you don’t get injured, and for us this is where come in. We will fully support the game of cricket and in the development of its players.”

Cricket Fiji chairman Ratu Meli Saubulinayau thanked Sports World for stepping in to help boost teams preparing for the Pacific Island Cricket Challenge 2023 (PICC23) which will be played next week.

In attendance during the signing were Cricket Fiji representatives from the 11 associations who are in Suva for a Skills Development Program at Albert Park.
