Tilak High School celebrates win

Lautoka-based Tilak High School which triumphed in the Fiji Secondary School Football Association (FSSFA) Digicel IDC recently celebrated their win after a lapse of 18 years.

Head of School Vinod Sharan applauded the heroics of the U-19 boys and said it was all possible through teamwork.

“It has not been a one person’s effort, but rather a teamwork,” he said.

Sharan said a dream has been realised after numerous efforts, dedication, hard work and planning.

“Tilak High School has reclaimed that glory that the school has been renowned for.

“The excellent victory that we are achieving, it is through everyone’s effort and this evening’s function is to honour these group of boys.”

Winning Under-19 team captain Apisalome Ravouvou acknowledged everyone who have helped the team achieve this victory.

“It gives me immense pleasure and gratitude to thank everyone to celebrate our greatest achievement.

“As the team captain, I must thank the dedicated players for giving their best in the field for their hard work and determination.”

Ravouvou also thanked the coaches and managers for their words of upliftment and encouragement throughout the sporting season and believing in all of them.

“To the parents and guardians, thank you for the support and moral learning that you have instilled in us to work together as a team and for bringing the trophy back to the school.”
