The NewWorld IGA Suva Netball Association 2023 Club League final and round 12 games are set to be an exciting event.

The Tiki Vai girls team will face off against Rovers in the premier league final at the Vodafone Arena in Suva today.

For the Tiki Vai girls, this is their first time in the premier final, and they are super elated.

Despite having defeated Rovers in the earlier pool games, they are not taking anything lightly and have prepared well for this match.

Coach Myron Williams says the season has been a good one for all the girls.

The team consists of players from Samoa, PNG, as well as Fijians, and Williams said it was a diverse mix, with most of them being students from the University of the South Pacific and high schools.

“It has been a season of growth, learning, discipline, and commitment,” Williams said.

“Each player has worked hard to improve their skills and contribute to the team’s success.

“I’m also thrilled about the games today and really looking forward to it. I’m confident the team will go into the finals with a strong mindset and determination.”

Williams said it was also exciting to see what Suva Netball had planned for the rest of the year, indicating that there is much more to come from the sport in the region.

“Being a new club, Tiki Vai has faced numerous challenges, particularly financial ones. Many of the members are not working, which poses difficulties in organising and supporting the team.

“However, the club management and coaching staff have always provided the best for the players. This year, they have invested in top-quality equipment and are actively seeking job opportunities for the players.”

Despite these challenges, Williams said the team has persevered and reached the premier finals, proving their commitment and dedication.

The Tiki Vai team is hopeful their fans and supporters will turn out to cheer them on.

“They are determined to win the finals and make everyone proud,” Williams said.

“The team is grateful for the opportunity to compete at this level and aims to showcase their skills and hard work on the court.”
